Commerce Bank was a sponsor of the United South End Settlements (USES) 125th Birthday Party, held on January 28 at the Harriet Tubman House. Originally founded as the Andover House in 1891, United South End Settlements was the first settlement house in Boston and the fourth in the United States. Its mission is to build a strong community by improving the education, health, safety and economic security of low-income individuals and families in Boston's historic South End/Lower Roxbury and to serve as a national model of successful neighborhood engagement.
