Annual Homes for the Holiday Event raises record-breaking amount for Housing Programs

On Thursday, December 11, Victory Programs held its annual Homes for the Holidays celebration at Club Café in Boston's South End. This event featured the presentation of the 20th annual Peter Medoff Awards, given to individuals who have displayed dedication and excellence in the field of HIV/AIDS.

Honored with the 2014 Peter Medoff Award was Gary Sandison, a long-time friend, advocate and supporter of HIV/AIDS service agencies. Linda Goldman from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health was presented with the 2014 AIDS Housing Award. The winners accepted their awards in front of several previous Peter Medoff and AIDS Housing winners who were invited to celebrate the 20thanniversary of the awards.

Guests were entertained by MC Jim Clerkin from KISS108 and participated in live and silent auctions all to benefit Victory Programs' Housing Division, which operates 10 long-term and permanent housing programs in Boston, Cambridge and Topsfield. Through the generosity of attendees and sponsors the 2014 Homes for the Holidays celebration raised a record-breaking $35,000.

Homes for the Holidays was sponsored by Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, Walgreens, Eastern Bank, Maguire Mechanical Services, Boston Private Bank & Trust, Macy's, Perkins Financial Services, Capital Lease Group, and GraphicSmith.
