Fatal Pedestrian Accident on BU Medical Campus
A pedestrian was struck and killed by a Boston University shuttle bus near 774 Albany Street on the BU Medical Campus at approximately 7:58 a.m. Monday morning. The victim, whose identity has not been released, became trapped beneath the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Boston Police Department's Homicide Unit and Fatal Collision Investigation Team responded to the incident. Albany Street between Northampton Street and Massachusetts Avenue was closed in both directions for several hours, with the Mass. Ave. Connector to Boston Medical Center also temporarily shut down. All roads reopened by early afternoon.
The investigation remains ongoing, and no arrests have been made. BU spokesperson Colin Riley called the incident "a terrible tragedy."
Fatal Shooting in Roxbury
A woman was fatally shot multiple times on Washington Street near Lenox Street at approximately 1:07 p.m. Monday. The victim was transported to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Washington Street between Lenox and Northampton streets was temporarily closed during the investigation. Police have not released information about what led to the shooting, and no arrests have been announced.
