    Local Focus

This exhibit is in the window facing Tremont St: Katherine Downey Miller was raised in the Boston area, with a BS in painting from Skidmore College and an MFA from the The School of Visual Arts. She describes herself as a painter of nature as opposed to landscapes, and as an observer of the effect of weather patterns and of light traveling through the surface of water as seen from below. Her art highlights environmental themes, as reflected in a 2019 solo exhibit of smaller works about the ocean, "Liquid and Luminosity." Her paintings hover between distinguishable forms and textured abstractions.

    South End Writes

We expect our author series to pick up again in the near future. The presentations will be hybrid, viewable on zoom or Facebook live, but will also be in-person in the Marleen Nienhuis meeting room. Stay tuned, more info to come!

    The Anne Smart Fund

About $3500 has been raised to date, to acknowledge former Head Librarian Anne for her many years of devoted service to the SE community, and because local history is a special interest of hers, this new Fund will be used to support related activities at the South End Branch.
