At about 8:08 PM, on Sunday, December 11, 2022, officers assigned to District D-4 (South End/Lower Roxbury), responded to a radio call to check on the wellbeing of a resident on the 12th floor.
Upon arrival, officers knocked and announced their presence and purpose multiple times and did not receive a response. Officers gained entry to the apartment and discovered a victim nonviable.
Officers made verbal contact with a second individual inside the apartment and a Code 99 was declared. Boston SWAT officers entered the apartment and were met with a physical threat. Officers used de-escalation tactics and eventually use of less lethal force was deployed by officers.
At that time, the suspect dove out a 12th floor window but was caught up and was hanging from the window. SWAT officers were able to enter an apartment on the 11th floor and pull the suspect through the window. The suspect was secured and transported to a local hospital suffering from non-life-threatening injuries.
