Elizabeth Stone House has developed 32 new units of permanent affordable supportive housing for homeless and at-risk homeless individuals and families who have fled or are fleeing domestic violence. The building will provide the neighborhood with residential units, community space, a Parent-Child Center, laundry, storage and a recycling/trash room. The community will consist of 3 studios, 6 one bedrooms, 17 two-bedrooms and 6 three bedrooms. Seven units will be adapted for wheelchair accessibility and those with hearing and/or vision needs.
All units will have subsidy attached to them requiring that the household income limit not exceed 50% of the area median income. All residents will have income certifications annually and will pay 30% of their household income for rent. Current residents and applicants referred through the homeless set aside program will occupy 26 units. Six units will be available through a lottery process that will be conducted by the City of Boston in a closed session.
The order for selection for the housing will be determined by the lottery. Those not selected through the lottery will remain on a site based waiting list. The lottery date will be posted at www.onewestminster.com. Applications will be available beginning August 20 and must be submitted and postmarked no later than October 23, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. if mailed. Applications can be requested by either emailing onewestminster@maloneyproperties.com; visiting our website at or by calling 617-209-5434 or MA relay 711. Informational Zoom meetings will be held on August 26 at 3:00 p.m. and September 3 at 7:00 p.m. Links will be provided on the webpage above.
