Alleah Smith-Jackson, (left) South End NSC client, chooses toys for her children with the help of Amber Dickerson, Operations Manager, ABCD South End NSC. This year the ABCD Toy Drive gathered close to 7,000 toys for children in low-income families in all of Boston's neighborhoods and the Mystic Valley area. Many parents work two and three jobs but struggle to pay for rent, food and utilities and there is not enough left for holiday toys — so ABCD and other toy drives fill that gap and make a difference for families in need.
