Over 300 guests flocked to the Boston Center for the Arts Cyclorama on Thursday, October 2 to dine on international delights from local restaurants, play games, meet and greet major league soccer stars and kick around the ball on an indoor field at the America SCORES fundraiser. Popular local eateries Teranga, Estragon, Orinoco Kitchen, Morton's, Addis Red Sea and Super Fusion and Samuel Adams brewery provided refreshments to fuel attendees for a fun and active evening of foosball, soccer and a children's scrimmage featuring participants from America SCORES programs in Boston Public Schools. New England Revolution stars José Gonçalves, AJ Soares and Chris Tierney; Revolution head coach Jay Heaps; Revs announcer Brad Feldman; Boston Breakers star and U.S. women's national team member Kristy Mewis and U.S. women's national team player Brianna Scurry posed for pictures with guests and gave soccer pointers to children and business-attired guests alike. According to Justin Rice, a Boston.com sportswriter who has been an America SCORES volunteer coach for 10 years and a volunteer on the benefit for four years, this year's event netted more than $100,000, a significant increase over last year's total.

America SCORES Boston is part of a national organization that provides school-based soccer, arts and academic support programs to at-risk elementary and middle school students. In Boston, America SCORES provides 36 in-school programs.
