On Thursday, April 16, 2015, Boston Police District D-4 (South End) officers were visited by a group of 3rd grade students from the Blackstone School. The 8- and 9-year-old children presented the officers with homemade safety posters that they had crafted earlier in the week. The kids also performed a skit with a public safety message for other children: NEVER TOUCH A GUN! In the skit, the students found a discarded firearm in the schoolyard and acted out the appropriate and safe actions to take-don't touch that gun and tell an adult. The officers were so happy that the 3rd graders visited and even more impressed with their knowledge about safety.
