The Boston Conservatory hosted its 13th annual Reaching for the Stars Gala: Celebrating the Art of the Piano which was held on Saturday, March 16, 2013 in downtown Boston at the highly acclaimed State Room.

This year’s Gala was a dazzling production celebrating the piano as a central instrument used by all three divisions of our school. The evening featured performances from each division - Music, Musical Theater, and Dance. The evening was highlighted by fantastic student performances, a live auction, and an exciting update on The Boston Conservatory’s newest endeavor - a new performing arts building on Ipswich Street, which will begin to take shape over the next few months.

Nearly 300 guests enjoyed cocktails, dinner and entertainment all while supporting the Boston Conservatory Scholarship Fund. Attendees had the chance to bid on an array of unique auction items including a private in-home piano concert by Oleksandr Poliykov, dinner prepared by Boston Conservatory President Richard Ortner himself, and exclusive travel packages to enjoy vineyard tours Sonoma Valley, a cooking demonstration at Le Cordon Bleu in Ottawa, Canada and a jazz experience in New Orleans.

Since its founding in 1867, The Boston Conservatory has grown to offer an excellent education in Music, Theater, and Dance to talented young students who will become the professional performing artists of the future. Students benefit from access to the region’s very best artist-teachers, individual lessons, use of specialized facilities, participation in ambitious productions, and exposure to outstanding artists in residence.
