South End residents earn academic honors at Newton Country Day School

Sister Barbara Rogers, Headmistress of Newton Country Day School of the Sacred Heart, honored South End eighth grader Precious Ebika and seventh grader Toya Ora with Gold Distinction Awards for achieving an academic average of A or A- with no grade below B+. Sophomore Brenda Chen, freshman Stoni Drane, and seventh grader Georgia Freeland received Silver Distinction for a grade average of a B+ with no grade below a B-.

Founded in 1880, Newton Country Day is an independent girls’ school, grades 5-12, in the Roman Catholic tradition. Newton Country Day is part of the Sacred Heart Network of 21 schools in the United States and 45 countries around the world.
