Boston Police Speaker Series

Join District D-4 on Thursday, December 6, from 7:00- 8:00 p.m. at the Blackstone Community Center, 50 West Brookline St., Boston for a presentation with Lieutenant Detective Robert M. Merner Commander, Drug Control Unit.

Lt.. Merner will also speak on the subject of the recent drug lab scandal and questions about community concerns in D-4.

Lieutenant Detective Robert M. Merner is a 26 year veteran of the Boston Police Department,

As a police officer he was assigned to Area B-2 and the city-wide Anti-Crime Unit. As a detective, he worked investigations in the Anti-Gang Violence Unit, Organized Crime Unit, Youth Violence Unit, Organized Crime Unit, Youth Violence Strike Force, Homicide Unit and Office of the Superintendent-in-Chief representing the Police Commissioner on several community and law enforcement initiatives. He served as a Deputy Superintendent and was the Commander of the Criminal Investigation Division, which oversees Homicide, the Fugitive Unit, and the Crime Scene Response Unit, the Forensic Group, as well as all district detectives. Detective Merner also served as the commander of the Firearm Discharge Investigation Team, which involves Discharge Investigation Team.

Detective Merner presently assumes the role of Lieutenant Detective and Commander of the Drug Control Unit. He oversees 106 Detectives and Police Officers.
