Boston Police arrest two robbery suspects
Wednesday Nov 7, 2012

Submitted by BPD

About 6:56 p.m. on Monday, November 5, 2012, officers from District D-4 (South End) responded to a radio call for a robbery in progress at 170 West Canton St.

On arrival, officers were met by the victim who stated that while in the alley between West Brookline Street and West Canton Street, he was approached by three black males in their teens, on bicycles. As the victim continued to walk, one of the suspects (unknown black male wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt) blocked his path and stated, "Give me all your (expletive)" and reached towards the victim. The victim stated, "I’m not giving you anything" and attempted to walk around the suspect. At that time, the suspect dropped his bicycle and began to run after the victim, causing the victim to flee and yell for help. All three suspects chased the victim for approximately half of a block before retreating. As the suspects began to flee the scene on their bicycles, the victim was able to call 911. The victim further stated to officers that the other two suspects were also black males in their teens who were both wearing dark hooded "parkas" and that all three suspects fled in the alley that runs across West Brookline Street and West Canton Street, in the direction of Mass Avenue. Officers broadcast a description of the suspects and their direction of flight and began to search the area. Approximately five minutes later, officers, observed three black males and as the officers approached them and attempted to do a threshold inquiry, the individuals immediately split up and began to flee the area.

After a lengthy foot pursuit the suspects were apprehended. All the suspects were brought back for a show-up identification process. Two suspects were positively identified by the victim. The male suspect #1, a juvenile, of Dorchester, was arrested and charged with Delinquent to Wit: Unarmed Robbery and male suspect #2, Dontana Bryant, 17, of Boston was arrested and charged with Unarmed Robbery. Suspect #3 was identified and released.

Suspect bicycles were seized and held for evidence.
