This year's Art 100 Boston multi-media exhibit, a fundraiser for breast cancer research, met with great success on Friday evening, December 4 at the Piano Craft Gallery, 793 Tremont Street. The show comprises paintings, photography, stoneware, pottery, masks, drawings and more by 65 artists priced at $100 per piece, with proceeds benefitting the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

According to press contact Nicole Maxey, opening night was an impressive success all around with about 500 people in attendance, sale of one-third of the works, and sales by two-thirds of exhibiting artists. An open bar with cocktails made with Bombay Sapphire gin lent additional elegance to the atmosphere, while guests arrived in everything from overalls to a gown and heels.

The exhibit was founded, organized and co-curated by local artist Pares Mallis, herself a cancer survivor, and one joyful, moving set of images celebrated the bodies of breast-cancer survivors. Mallis herself contributed stoneware wall hangings in the shape of colorful ribbons to the exhibit. Gallery hours are Tuesday-Friday, 3:30-8:00 PM and Saturday and Sunday, 1:00-6:00 PM through Art 100's December 19 closing date.
