Experience the Beauty of The Boston Harbor Islands

On May 21, 2022, the National Park Service, the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR), Boston Harbor Now, and Boston Harbor City Cruises invite the community to join them for Free Ferry Day to kick off a special Park Anniversary season of public ferry service to Boston Harbor Islands National and State Park. Free Ferry Day is highlighted by the free trips to and from Spectacle and Georges Islands for visitors to enjoy recreation, history, and the natural beauty of the Islands.

During these Island excursions, visitors can experience sandy beaches and winding trails, picnic, and explore the rich history of Boston Harbor Islands National and State Park.

Free Ferry Day Logistics:

Everyone is welcome! Tickets are limited to 5 tickets per adult.

Free Ferry Tickets to Spectacle and Georges Island are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets tend to go quickly, so arrive early to secure yours.

Free Ferry Tickets to Spectacle and Georges Island are valid only on Saturday, May 21st. Tickets are available beginning at 8:00 am on May 21st.

Ferries will depart Long Wharf North for Spectacle Island at 10:30 am, 12:30 pm and 2:30 pm.

Ferries will depart Long Wharf North for George's Island at 10:00 am, 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm.

Tickets are available from the Boston Harbor City Cruises Ferry Center at Long Wharf North only. Boats depart from Boston's Long Wharf North Gate A2, next to the Long Wharf Marriott Hotel adjacent to Christopher Columbus Park, and a short walk from the MBTA Blue Line Aquarium stop.
