Cathedral High School Graduates the Class of 2017

With the Cathedral of the Holy Cross closed for a year long renovation, graduation exercises, the 87th for Cathedral High School took place last Saturday morning, May 20 at St. James Church in Chinatown. At 10 a.m. the graduates, girls in yellow and boys in green, filed into the church and took their seats in a reserved front section. Dr. Helenann Civian, principal, welcomed all, delivered the invocation and served as mistress of ceremonies.

The salutatory address was presented by Daniel Janowiec and the valedictory by Amberose Leigh McDonald. Several awards were presented to the following graduates: Spirit Award: Roody Jean-Baptiste; Covenent Award: Jenaysia K. Joseph; Service Award: Rasheed K. Williams-Jackson; Vigor in Ardus Award for overall academic excellence: Jonathan Torres. Several graduates from the class of 1967 attended and were presented golden jubilee diplomas.
