Tito Puente Latin Music Series returns in July

During the month of July, Berklee's Summer in the City will host The Tito Puente Latin Music Series, coproduced by Berklee and Inquilinos Boricuas en Acción (IBA) Boston. The first two performances in this series will be held at O'Day Park in the South End, on Thursday, July 7, and Thursday, July 14, at 7:00 p.m., weather permitting. The final concert in the Tito Puente series, held on August 4, will also take place at O'Day Park.

Other Tito Puente Latin Music Series concerts take place in Jamaica Plain and Mission Hill.

This series presents a soundscape of live Latin music with a strong salsa influence in parks around the city. Performers include Berklee faculty, students, alumni, and world-renowned artists.

Latin Logic Band


Combining the sounds of their Costa Rican and Venezuelan origins, the Latin Logic Band plays a special brand of Latin, jazz, and Afro-Caribbean rhythms. This Grammy-nominated duo has explored remote corners of the world, sharing their music.

Mango Blue


Led by the renowned Alex Alvear, Mango Blue has become an award-winning Afro-Latin music ensemble. Alvear does it all as composer, singer, bassist, and arranger while bringing a little of Ecuador, the country of his birth, to Boston. With his unique compositions, he has been a driving force in New England's Latin music scene, making him one of the most accomplished Latino artists in the city.

Orquesta Homenaje


Puerto Rican percussionist Frankie Rodríguez has been a mainstay int he New England music scene as the go-to bandleader whenever salsa superstars are performing in the region. Rodríguez has performed with artists like Ismael Miranda, Lalo Rodríguez, Cheo Feliciano, and others. His band, Orquesta Homenaje, joins forces with some of the most talented performers from the region and offers an exciting blend of salsa hits.
