At about 9:40 AM on Friday, August 21, 2015, officers assigned to District D-4 (South End) responded to a radio call for disturbance in the area of Cumberland and Saint Botolph Streets. Officers spoke with the female victim who stated that she was parking her car on Cumberland Street when an unidentified black male suspect described as having short, curly black hair and wearing a light grey or blue short sleeved shirt approached her driver's side door and opened it.


The suspect initially attempted to push the victim into the car as he entered but the victim struggled at which time the suspect pulled the victim out of the car and she was able to break free and run away. The vehicle was later located in the rear 78 Peterborough Street where it had been set on fire. The suspect was believed to be last seen walking on Park Drive towards Beacon Street and may have been wearing ill-fitting shoes.


The Boston Police Department is actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident. Anyone with information is strongly urged to contact District D-4 Detectives at (617) 343-5619.
