Formaggio Kitchen Wine & Cheese Fundraiser for the Blackstone Innovation School

Saturday, January 20, 2018, 8:00 - 10:00 PM
Formaggio Kitchen, 268 Shawmut Avenue
Join Formaggio Kitchen's general manager and wine buyer of 14 years Julie Cappellano and cheese, wine and honey expert Marianne Staniunis for a wine and cheese class featuring our favorite Formaggio Kitchen products and pairings. Julie and Marianne will lead an intimate group through the tasting of 5+ wines and 10 cheeses, and will wax poetic about these wonderful foods they've fallen in love with at the shop and during their travels in France, Italy, Germany, Austria, Portugal, and Spain!

The best part of this delicious and educational class is that all of the profits from the class will be donated to The Blackstone Innovation School. The Blackstone is a public elementary school just a few blocks down Shawmut Avenue from Formaggio Kitchen. This bright and cheerful school serves over 600 kids from our neighborhood and East Boston, the majority of whom come from low-income families. Bill Wolff, President of the Friends of Blackstone non-profit will be on hand to talk about why the Blackstone school is so special.

100% of the proceeds from ticket sales will go to the Friends of Blackstone School non-profit, which directly supports the school. Cheese and wine will be donated by Formaggio Kitchen South End and friends in the beverage industry. Instructors Julie and Marianne are donating their time. Julie's son currently is a K1 student at the Blackstone School. Marianne is a staunch public school proponent who attended Boston Public Schools growing up and graduated from Harvard Law School.

Heart of Gold Scholarship Event 2018

Thursday, February 8, 2018, 6:00 - 8:00 pm
Estragon, 700 Harrison Ave, Boston
The B/FSNA is having its annual fundraiser for its South End Scholarship. This is our 11th year. Last year we raised over $40,000 and awarded over $32,000 to 15 recipients. For the last 10 years, our neighborhood association has awarded scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $2,500 to over 45 South End high school graduates to cover textbooks, computers, or supplies for college or trade school.

Show us your "heart of gold" by attending our fundraiser party.
Tickets are $50 in advance, $75 at the door.
This year we will be enjoying delicious Spanish tapas, wine, beer and cocktails, courtesy of Estragon Tapas Bar. Enjoy live music and bid on lots of exciting items at our live and silent auctions. All proceeds benefit the Scholarship Fund of BFSNA.
