Pine Street Inn, New England's leading organization dedicated to ending homelessness, served nearly 2,000 traditional holiday dinners on Thanksgiving Day.

With over 200 volunteers supporting the effort throughout the week, Pine Street roasted 74 twenty-five pound turkeys (close to 2,000 servings), along with mashed potatoes (500 pounds) and gravy (51 gallons), stuffing (402 pounds), cranberry sauce (212 pounds), corn and peas (521 pounds), and an assortment of traditional pies (205).

In addition to those having dinner at Pine Street's headquarters in the South End and other shelter locations, the 950+ tenants of Pine Street's permanent housing locations celebrated the holiday in 41 residences throughout Boston and Brookline. For some, this is the first Thanksgiving in many years that they spent in a home. Pine Street's Outreach teams will deliver holiday meals to men and women on the streets.

Supporting close to 2,000 men and women daily, Pine Street provides permanent housing, job training, emergency shelter and street outreach.
