Multiple Commercial Robberies in the South End

The Boston Police are investigating multiple incidents of commercial robberies in the South End

In each of the incidents, the suspects are two black males in their twenties. The suspects leave the scene in every incident on bicycles. The incident descriptions are as follows:

• At about 8:18 PM, Wednesday, August 13, 2014 detectives from District D-4 (South End) responded to a radio call for an armed robbery in progress in the area of 1747 Washington Street (7-11 Store) in the South End. On arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated he had been robbed. The victim stated that one of the suspects came behind the counter, stated that he had a gun, and forced him to open the cash register as the second suspect kept watch. The first suspect is described as a black male, possibly in his mid to late twenties, wearing a dark navy hooded sweatshirt with white strings, black pants and black sneakers. The second suspect is described as a black male, possibly in his mid to late twenties, wearing a navy blue Boston Red Sox shirt with the number 20 on it and the name "Youkilis" on the back, a gray baseball hat with writing on it, black pants, and white sneakers. The suspects fled on a bicycle.

• At about 10:55 PM, Friday, August 22, 2014 officers from District D-4 (South End) responded to a radio call for an armed robbery in progress in the area of 281 Huntington Avenue (College Convenience Store) in the Fenway area. On arrival, officers spoke witnesses who stated that they had observed two black males in the area of the above location. The witnesses called the police when the suspect covered their faced with their shirts and entered the store. At this time, the suspects grabbed the store clerk and demanded he open the register. The suspects were described as two black males in their twenties wearing all black. The suspects fled the scene on bicycles.

• At about 6:00 AM, Monday, August 25, 2014 officers from District D-4 (South End) responded to a radio call for an alarm holdup in the area of 1747 Washington Street (7-11 Store) in the South End. On arrival, officers spoke to the victim who stated that she had opened the store and then proceeded outside to have a cigarette, as she attempted to re-enter the store, she was forced inside by a black male. The suspect demanded the victim open the cash register, to which she complied. The suspect was followed by another black male who appeared to be keeping watch. The suspects then fled the scene with one traveling on foot and the other traveling on a bicycle.

• At about 3:54 AM, Sunday, August 31, 2014 officers from District D-4 (South End) responded to a radio call for robbery in the area of 281 Huntington Avenue (College Convenience Store) in the Fenway area. On arrival, officers spoke to the victim who stated that two black males entered the store together. One of the suspects jumped over the counter, and demanded cash from the register while the second suspect kept watch. The suspects then fled the scene with one traveling on foot and the other traveling on a bicycle.

• At about 4:10 PM, Wednesday, September 3, 2014 officers from District D-4 (South End) responded to a radio call for robbery in progress in the area of 563 Columbus Avenue (Food Basket) in the South End. On arrival, officers spoke to the victims who stated that two black males entered the store with their faces half covered by their shirts. One of the suspects then ran around the counter and demanded cash from the register while the second suspect kept watch. The suspects fled the scene on bicycles.

Boston Police Investigate Indecent Assault of a Female Juvenile in the South End

At about 8:10 PM on Sunday, September 7, 2014, officers from District D-4 (South End) responded to a report of a sexual assault in the area of Shawmut Avenue and Brandon Harris Way in Roxbury.

On arrival, officers spoke to witnesses who stated that a group of children were playing in the area of the above location when they were approached by an unknown black male. The male proceeded to indecently assault the juvenile female victim over her clothing. The suspect then fled on foot toward Lenox Street. Witnesses reported the suspect may be familiar to the area.

The suspect is described as a black or Hispanic male in his mid to late thirties, bald, approximately 5'6" to 5'8" tall, medium build, wearing a white tee shirt, dark colored pants or jeans, and dark colored footwear.


The Boston Police Department is actively investigating facts and circumstances surrounding this incident. Anyone with information is asked to call the Sexual Assault Unit detectives at 617-343-4400.
