Police are the problem
Wednesday Jan 4, 2012

Dear Editor,

In the Dec. 22 South End News article "Shawmut shooting left one injured," recording responses from community members ("shock and concern"... "concern about safety" ... "being unhappy" ... "happens all the time" ... "hopes that the violence will stop" ... "being devastated" ... "fear of living in the area" ... "violence in the area" ... "concern about walking" ... "always on edge" ... "shootings upsetting" ... "it was in broad daylight") does nothing to stop the problem which lies with the police being nowhere in sight patrolling on their two feet and not wasting their gas driving around talking to each other in their cars. We have no enforcement of any of our laws, let alone stopping shootings. It’s a police problem and you would do well to expose it with your pen.
