This just in from organizers of the Berklee Beantown Jazz Fest:

"Due to severe weather conditions which include a flood advisory, we regret to announce that all of the festival’s Saturday activities are CANCELLED.

Jazz Fest comes to Columbus Ave.

The Berklee BeanTown Jazz Festival swings into the neighborhood this Saturday, as a six-block stretch of Columbus Avenue plays host to a three-stage extravaganza that will see a roster of local and world-renowned jazz musicians strut their stuff.

The lineup includes the Gold Sounds, All Jackson, Javon Jackson, Kurt Elling, Walter Beasley, Randy Weston’s African Rhythms Trio, Russell Malone Quartet, Berklee City Music All-Star Ensemble - which features students from inner-city Boston who attend Berklee on full scholarships - and many, many more.

The three stages will span the six blocks of Columbus Avenue between Massachusetts Avenue and Burke Street.
The site will feature over 60 vendors who will offer arts and crafts, accessories and food from around the globe. The festival will also feature an expanded Target Family Park, which features kid- friendly activities including inflatable which features kid friendly activities including inflatable attractions, coloring and crafts, face painting, an instrument petting zoo and temporary tattoos.

The event is part of the 8th Annual Berklee BeanTown Jazz festival, which takes place from Sept. 25-28 at Berklee College of Music and other venues. The fest was started seven years ago by Darryl Settles, the proprietor of Bob The Chef’s, a former Columbus Avenue soul food hotspot. Last year, Berklee School of Music took over the festival’s production and expanded it into a weekend-long event.
Saturday’s free festivities run from noon until 6 p.m.
