2012 South End Murder Review

February 19, 2012. Mohammed Hassan, 21. 423 Shawmut Ave. At about 9:30 p.m., officers responded to a call for a person shot in the South End. According to an official at the scene, the victim was a 21-year-old who died from a single gunshot to the face around 9:30 p.m. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. No arrests have been made.

July 12, 2012. Daniel Jorge Correia de Abreu, 29 and Safiro Teixeira Furtado,28. Shortly after 2:00 a.m., officers responded to a person shot at the intersection of Shawmut Avenue and Herald Street. Three male victims were found at the scene suffering from gunshot wounds. Two of the men were pronounced dead at the scene. A third man was transported to Tufts Medical Center suffering from non-life threatening gunshot wounds. The men were shot during a drive-by shooting in the South End. No arrests have been made.

October 17, /2012. Nicholas Martinez, 22. At about 6:44 p.m., officers in the area of 85 Southampton Street when they heard shots fired. Officers observed a vehicle fleeing the area and later discovered a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to Boston Medical Center where he later died. The following people have been arrested: Raymond M. Concepcion, 15, of Mattapan, Jaquan Derrick Hill, 19, of Brockton, and Shakeem Johnson, 21, of Hyde Park.
