"Chop-a-Thon" at Pine Street Inn
Thursday Apr 12, 2012

Email Print Share
On Saturday, March 31, 25 members of the Fenway Ambassadors, and other Front Office staff from the Red Sox, participated in a "Chop-a-Thon" event, and help cut approximately 500 pounds of fresh vegetables that will be used in the preparation of guest meals. Pine Street Inn provides over 2,000 meals everyday for guests and clients who visit the Inn.

The Red Sox and Red Sox Foundation have had a long-time connection with Pine Street Inn, starting back in 2004. Over the years the team and Red Sox Foundation have helped support the organization through donations, auction items to help benefit Pine Street Inn fundraising events, and volunteer efforts.

The visit was part of The Boston Red Sox and the Red Sox Foundation’s "100 Acts of Kindness," a program that recognizes and supports the work of charitable organizations throughout New England during Fenway Park’s 100th anniversary season. The visit to the Pine Street Inn brings the total number of "Acts of Kindness" to 18.
