McCrea to join press conference this morning

There’s no name change coming, but South Ender Kevin McCrea will announce today that he has joined Sam Yoon in endorsing Michael Flaherty for mayor.

"Floon" spokesperson Jordan Newman confirmed this morning that McCrea would be endorsing Flaherty’s campaign, saying McCrea would focus on what to do with the Boston Redevelopment Authority (BRA).

"Kevin’s really set his sights on [the BRA] as a target for transparency, for accountability," said Newman.

Floon hopes this announcement shows that their camp will work with "others like Kevin who have been out there sort of raising out expectations with city government," said Newman.

The move will be announced at a press conference at the site of Filene’s Basement at Downtown Crossing today at 11:15 a.m., during which "Michael Flaherty and Sam Yoon will announce plans to use performance bonding to hold contractors accountable for stalled construction at large projects like that at the former Filene’s site," the campaign announced in a release this morning.
