The Boston Fire Department reports that a woman committed suicide by ingesting a chemical at 676 Mass. Ave on Monday night. She was pronounced dead at Boston Medical Center.

Twelve people were evacuated from the apartment building and responding police offers and the ambulance crew were also treated.

The Boston Globe reports that officials believe the woman, who’s name has not been released, may have ingested sodium azide, which is used in the production of airbags.
