"ART" at The Factory Theatre
The Factory Theatre, 791 Tremont Street

ABOUT THIS EVENT

"ART", a comedy by Yasmina Reza, will be presented by Counter-Productions Theatre Company and The Factory Theatre at 791 Tremont Street.

Penned by French playwright Yasmina Reza, the play concerns three longtime friends, Serge, Marc, and Yvan. Serge, indulging his penchant for modern art, buys a large, expensive, completely white painting. Marc is horrified, and their relationship suffers considerable strain as a result of their differing opinions about what constitutes "art." Yvan, caught in the middle of the conflict, tries to please and mollify both of them, while coming to grips with his impending wedding.

This exploration of the meaning of art and friendship is directed by international theatre director Saori Kaneko. Ms. Kaneko is a citizen of Japan and a graduate of the Salem State College Theatre Program.

The play will be performed by three founding members of the company. Serge is played by David Perkinson, Yvan by Dan Grund, and Marc by Ted Clement. Creative staff includes CPTC veterans Jennifer Lindquist (Costume Design), Jessica Schneider (Scenic Design), Ian Conway (Sound Design), Meghan Hamilton (Props Design), and Ryan Kasle (Lighting Design).
