"This is the Sound of Harmony," Boston Children’s Chorus documentary preview and CD release
Boston Public Library, Central Library, Rabb Lecture Hall, 700 Boylston St.
ABOUT THIS EVENT

The Boston Children’s Chorus is screening a preview of its documentary filmed during an educational exchange trip to Jordan in July. Invited by King Abdullah II, 56 singers ages 11-18 from communities across the Commonwealth spent two weeks as cultural ambassadors in the Middle East. The film takes viewers through the country of Jordan, from Amman to Petra to the Dead Sea, through the eyes of the Boston-area youths, conveying their sense of wonder in these new people, new experiences and a new enlightenment about the world around them. The preview of the film will be followed by question-and-answer sessions with Spalletta, singers and chorus leadership. The new CD, "This is the Sound of Harmony," is the group’s second. It aims to tell a story and teach lessons on building community and breaking down barriers - reaching a harmonious state. Each piece teaches us to celebrate who we are, to search for equality, and finally deepen our understanding of others. The event is free and open to the public.
