Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Action

Friday Jan 15, 2016

St. Stephen's Youth Programs is sponsoring the Sixth Annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Action on Monday January 18th! The day is taking place at the Blackstone Innovation School at 380 Shawmut Avenue in the South End from 8:30am-1:30pm (breakfast and lunch will be served!).

Leaders and volunteers of all ages are invited to live out Dr. King's ideal that "Everybody can be great...because everybody can serve" on this day of action and reflection. This is an excellent event for families to serve together. Breakfast and registration start at 8:30am. Planned projects for the day improvements in the learning environment at the school (including painting murals of heroes of justice) and a teen-led leadership workshop. The event is organized collaboratively by the St. Stephen's Youth Programs, The Blackstone Innovation School, the B-PEACE for Jorge Campaign, the Massachusetts Service Alliance, and CityYear. Please contact Maureen Burns to RSVP or with questions. She can be reached at maureen@ststephensbos.org or (847) 220-3012. Also see www.ssypboston.org for more information
