Lapin Fête de la Musique

Activities, music and entertainment!

Community Music Center's 5th annual Fête de la Musique is taking shape and is going to be an epic event filled with music, food and activities for all ages! Join us from 3:00 - 6:00 pm on June 17th for a memorable afternoon celebrating the summer solstice and the retirement on the Music Center's Executive Director, David Lapin.

Live music will be performed at Ringgold Park, Union Park, Frieda Garcia Park and Childe Hassam Park. At the same time, there will be a block party on Warren Avenue between Berkeley and Clarendon Streets with food, music, kid's games, face painting, balloon twisting and more!

Rain location: Blackstone Community Center

StringFest

Students from the Boston Public Schools who receive string music instruction through the Music Center will visit our South End location for a concert and extended learning opportunities. The day concludes with a pizza party!

May 26 at 11:30 am.

Early Childhood Music Celebrations

Join our early childhood students as they perform on their beginning instruments! May 20 (2:00 pm), May 22 (5:00 pm), May 24 (5:00 pm)

New England Viola da Gamba Society

The New England Viola da Gamba Society will give a short presentation in Allen Hall from 1:00 - 2:00 PM. They will perform for our Intensive Study Project seminars as well as anyone in the Music Center Community who would like to hear some wonderful chamber music. The event will conclude with a short masterclass for a student trio. June 3 (1:00-2:00 pm)

John Kleshinski Concert Series

The French Connection
Gramercy Trio
Thursday, May 18
7:00 pm, FREE
This concert will feature the connections and influences between teachers and students among French composers. Fauré, Saint-Saëns and Nadia Boulaner are among the great teachers whose works' will be performed. Community Music Center of Boston's Artists-in-Residence, the Gramercy Trio, is comprised of Sharan Leventhal, violin; Jonathan Miller, cello; Randall Hodgkinson, piano.
