Arts Performance for the Whole Family: Kids' Summer Arts Intensive
What: Kids ages 7-13 have been working hard during a 6-week Summer Arts Intensive program at Roxbury Community College. The program focuses on theater/drama, dance, creative writing, and taiko drums. Join us for free fun for the whole family as we celebrate their hard work at their final performance.

Shakespeare on the Common- Love's Labour's Lost
What: In Love's Labour's Lost, friendship and loyalty amongst four young men and four young women are put to the test when romantic youthful notions of love encounter the challenges of adulthood. A high-spirited romantic comedy filled with dazzling wordplay, strong comic characters and a few unexpected twists, Love's Labour's Lost both charms and touches the heartstrings of young and old alike.

Boston Public Health Commission Networking Forum- Zika Viru
What: Join the Boston Public Health Commission at the Community Health Education Center for their monthly networking forum, this month on Zika Virus. Learn about the Zika virus outbreak, how it is spread, Zika and pregnancy, the threat of Zika transmission in Boston, and other mosquito-borne illnesses in Boston. Yoga for Older Adults

Parkland Games
What: Every Sunday a variety of games- including paddle ball, parachute, corn hole, Frisbee, hula hoops, and ladderball- are set up in the Charles River parklands. Equipment is sized for children as young as 3 through adults. From5-6 PM, Karma Yoga Studio conducts a one-hour yoga class.

Community Boating
What: Sailing program for adults and children. The motto is "Sailing for All" and to keep rates affordable, prices are being reduced based on income. In the summer, the 10 week youth program is run for as little as $1 for the entire summer. Children ages 10-17 can participate. Recommended time is for at least 2-3 weeks. Programs include a clubhouse, where children can choose which classes they'd like to take on a given week, but can always be at the boathouse during operating hours (8:30 am - 3 pm). It is a wonderful opportunity for children to learn to sail. While the children are always supervised, they are given a great deal of independence. Children build confidence in their own abilities and leave with a sense of accomplishment and knowledge.

Boston Youth Sanctuary - Accepting Referrals
What: BYS is an innovative therapeutic after school program, offered at no cost to the families, that serves children ages 6-11 who have experienced trauma and live in Dorchester, Roxbury, and Mattapan. BYS's after school program runs five days a week during the academic year, and its integrative services include transportation from school and to home every day, individual therapy, family services, and trauma-informed groups including yoga, dance, cooking, art therapy and more.
When: Accepting referrals now for 2015-2016 school year, ongoing. Daily programming to start in September.

Boston 1ON1
What: Boston 1ON1 is an opportunity for a new resident to learn about the many services in Boston that might affect them. It would also be a chance to ask questions about anything from park use to parking. As City Hall to Go already processes parking permits, provides trash and recycling stickers, assists in signing up for city apps (BOS311/PARK BOSTON), and much more, new residents can leave their meeting with all of their City business taken care of, and a better understanding of this new place they are calling home. In addition, Boston 1ON1 will introduce residents to cultural resources, state and federal resources, as well as important information regarding their new neighborhood.
